How do designers choose printing Paper type and gsm based on product type?
Paper is a must-have for the printing industry, the quality of paper has a great impact for the finished product.Therefor, most
people need to have a certain understanding of the paper, especially the gsm of paper, also refers to the thickness, so
common printing in the paper weight is what?
Different thickness of paper is suitable for different prints:
① Picture album paper type/gram weight:
The commonly used propaganda album design is art paper and matte art paper;
1.Cover paper and grammarge:
Generally use 300gsm Coated paper, or use cardboard;
2. Inner paper and grammarge:
For album below 16 pages, the inner pages use 200gsm double two side art paper or a little heavier to feel better touch feeling.
For album between 20-40 pages, the inner pages use 157gsm double two side art paper.
For album more than 40 pages, the inner pages use 128gsm double two side art paper.
When hundreds of pages or even more, taking into account the printing cost, it is best to choose 200g coated double side art paper for the cover and 80g coated double side art paper for the inner pages.
② Paper type/gsm of gift box:
Paper and gram weight of external laminating paper:
It is recommended to choose between 110-160gsm paper is better pasted; If available embossing and other paper processes,
you can consider choosing 180gsm, which will have a better performance effect;
Art paper should be coated, otherwise it is easy to break and rub ink.
Can adapt to do all kinds of printing, stamping, embossing, laminating process, etc.
③Paper and gsm of handle paper bag:
The gsm of the paper bag is recommended to choose between 20g-300g paper, and the foldingresistance must be better;
Art paper and White cardboard should be coated, otherwise it is easy to break and rub ink;
Products with light weight, it is best not less than 120g, except for food paper packaging.
